Description
MINT TEN-TEC ORION II 566 HF TRANSCEIVER   NEED THIS ITEM FAST?  I ship the SAME business day for Paypal payments Shipping via US MAIL or Fed Ex Ground Description This item is Mint Condition Ten-Tec Orion II HF Radio Its in same as brand new condition, very clean and always NON SMOKING OWNED! Comes with everything it came with new.  Original shipping box, manual, brochure, power cord, firmware update cable, and everything you see in the pictures.  This radio has been extremely well taken care of.  Never abused, never contested, its condition reflects how I care for all my equipment.  Its primary use has been for receiving and occasionally grabbing a new country when found on 80 and 20 meters.  Right now, I am too busy with work and am not using any of my radios.  So I decided to sell some of my gear and put off operating until get back to a normal life. CLICK HERE TO CHECK THE REVIEWS ON Eham This is one heck of a nice radio.  If you see the report from Sherwood Engineering you will find this radio hands down beats everything else out there.  It has all 3 optional roofing filters (300Hz, 600Hz, 1.8Khz).  Compare that to the Icom 7800 which has a 3000Hz wide roofing filter for its narrow position.  The Ten-Tec is 10 times more selective at the front end.  Operating CW at 100Hz bandwidth is a reality for day to day operations.  There is no offensive ringing when you crank down the bandwidth like with other radios.  In my tests, this is the most selective radio I have ever used.  Its almost comical to work weak signals that have an adjacent QRM station at 20dB over S-9 and not even know that the big signal is there.  Simply put, if they are outside of your bandwidth, YOU DO NOT HEAR THEM and there is no receiver desensitization.  The noise floor stays low regardless of how bad the QRM is.  I am not a died in the wool Ten-Tec man, but this radio really impresses me.  For twice the money, there is no better radio out there. This is not just a fantastic CW rig, its a darn pretty to listen to SSB radio.  The transmit bandwidth is adjustable out to 4Khz and you have full control of bass/treble levels as well as variable compression for working DX.  The receive bandwidth is adjustable from 100Hz to 9Khz wide.  The narrower than 1.8Khz settings are nice for AFSK digital ops wanting to run PSK, RTTY or other modes with their sound card interface.  You can run upper or lower SSB and still set your RX filter bandwidth down to 300Hz or less if needed.  Just for fun, I tuned in some RTTY stations and set the bandwidth at 180Hz (very close to the 170Hz shift they use).  Tuning either side of +/- 15Hz of the center frequency yielded a sharp cut off of the corresponding mark or space tones.  I have never seen receiver performance like this from any other radio in my life. The display looks even better in person than my pictures show.  It is hands down the clearest and sharpest display when compared to anything Icom or Yaesu has.  The menus are pretty easy to navigate and I ran the radio a good bit without even reading the manual.  Many of the settings are adjusted with the Multi Knob so the front panel has a very clean layout that is easy to memorize.  You should plan on becoming familiar with the manual to get the most out of this radio, but its certainly not a beast of a computer to program.  Since it is made in the USA, there is no jinglish to decipher in figuring out what you want to do.  Ten-Tec is renowned for their support and they are just a phone call away if you need help. This radio will be packed in the original box and shipped inside of another box for safety.  I will also insure it for the full value.  I generally prefer using Fed-Ex Ground for USA, but will be as accommodating as I can if you require another shipper. This radio can be picked up locally or I can deliver to many of the central Ohio areas like Columbus, Marysville, Mansfield, Lima, etc. PAYMENT can be Paypal, Cashiers Check, Money Order or personal check with a wait for clearance.  Also I do bank wire transfers and USA Shipping is $58.00 in the lower 48 INTERNATIONAL Shipping is $215.00 USD THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
